Hello, Goodbye

Millennials were the last group of children who enjoyed their childhood before technology penetrated into daily life. These days, it is more uncommon to see a child holding a toy, a book, or simply playing but fairly common seeing them navigate a smart phone or tablet (at times better than their parents). The amount of imaginary friends in the world has decreased as the amount of daily technological gadgets rise.

In this short video, it shows how the disconnection from technology allows a child’s imagination to run wild and enjoy her surroundings; to enjoy the moment and the now. Once technology re-enters the child’s life, it seems her imagination dies and with it, her newfound imaginary friend too.

The Heightened escape

If green spaces are not taken into account early on in a city’s development, then over time they will start to disappear and people will look to other open spaces that may not be ideal but serve the same purpose. Regardless of how that “open space” came to life, the type of people who use it, what it is used for, or any dangers that this newly discovered place, people have the power to change it and turn it into something that is useful to them.

In this video, it shows the protagonist running away from the city, from everything cold and closed off, all-while ignoring the dangers that the open space she is running to poses. Once at the peak, it turns into a safe space- a place of freedom. Back in the city, the feelings, mood and body-language of the protagonist change to the mood of the cold city; a difference between the escape.
